Organization:
Jacob・s Heart Children・s Cancer Support Services exists to improve 
the quality of life for children with cancer and to ease the burdens 
faced by their families. Our support services are holistic in 
nature, aiming to address the families・ emotional, social and 
financial needs. Our mental health services include individual, 
family and group counseling, art therapy, as well as bereavement, 
teen, in-treatment, and off-treatment support groups. Jacob・s Heart 
provides additional support services, which include a resource 
library and referrals, community education, birthday & milestone 
celebrations, direct financial assistance. 

Position Title:
Family Specialist Clinical Supervisor (Bilingual, Spanish/English)

Position Overview
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Family Services Clinical 
Supervisor is responsible for: (1) providing families from Monterey 
and San Benito Counties with case management services; and (2) 
overall supervision of interns working within the Family Services 
program.  Case management services include individual, family and 
group therapy; ongoing development and planning of the program; 
access to social services; initial needs assessment, appropriate 
documentation, and referrals to community resources. Supervision 
includes, but is not limited to, conducting regular supervision 
meetings, maintaining and submitting employee records, conducting 
clinical evaluations, among other tasks.  Nurture relationships with 
social workers at UCSF and Lucille Packard Children・s Hospital as 
well as with local service agencies; strategically select, develop 
and maintain close working relationships with partnering 
organizations, Coastal Kids and the Children・s Hospice and 
Palliative Care Coalition. 

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
* Provide families from Monterey and San Benito Counties with case 
  management services, including
* conducting needs assessments
* conducting  individual and family therapy to these families
* maintaining contact with families by phone, in-home and 
  hospital visits
* facilitating support groups
* providing access to resource information and referrals to   
  community based agencies
* Maintain appropriate documentation of case management 
  services; maintain thorough, accurate and confidential records, 
  files, correspondence and statistics in both written form and via 
  data entry in a computer database
* Provide supervision of counseling interns as per the Board 
  of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) requirements
* Assess and update clinical counseling policies and procedures
* Maintain and promote an atmosphere of dignity, strict 
  confidentiality, and respect in line with the philosophy and 
  policies of Jacob's Heart
* Interface with other program and agency staff to ensure good 
  communication, consistency and teamwork
* Attend weekly staff meeting
* Hold regular individual meetings with Family Services 
  staff/interns

Required Qualifications: 
LCSW with a minimum of 2 years experience as a clinical supervisor 
as well as meeting BBS requirements. Demonstrated ability to uphold 
program and personnel policies; ability to plan, organize, 
coordinate, implement, and evaluate program activities; ability to 
establish effective working relationships from a variety of sources; 
deep commitment to children a must; group facilitation experience.  
Must be bilingual, Spanish/English.

Preferred Qualifications, Skills & Abilities:
Experience working with families dealing with life-threatening 
disease; specific experience with cancer preferred; strong writing 
and communication skills; proficient in basic MS applications (Word, 
Excel, Access, Outlook, etc.); ability to work under pressure and 
meet deadlines; ability to identify key issues in problem solving 
and implement effective and creative solutions; sound judgment, 
sense of humor, and flexibility; valid driver's license and clean 
DMV record; live scan fingerprinting upon hire.

Hours/Location
* Part Time: 24 hours per week
* Some weekends and evenings required
* Freedom and Oldtown Salinas offices
