Calfee Design is a world leader in the manufacture of high-end carbon
and bamboo bicycle frames. With the greater body of the bicycle
industry following Calfee into carbon fiber, there is no shortage of
frames and components in need of repair. Revenue from this emerging
profit center, coupled with the rise of bamboo as a popular
alternative frame material, has allowed for continued growth in
Calfees product offering.
Since 2003, Calfee has repaired over 3300 carbon bicycle frames, 700
so far this year. In 2009 alone, Calfee expects to repair over 900
carbon frames for consumers, dealers and manufacturers. Housing
every element of carbon frame manufacturing under a single roof in
Santa Cruz County, including finishing and paint, allows Calfee to
offer this unique and comprehensive service. With the increasing
usage of carbon by manufacturers of bicycle frames and components,
Calfee expects continued and significant growth in this area.
Calfee Design is interviewing for the position of Repairs Manager.
This management position is one of the few administrative positions
within our manufacturing company. The Repairs Manager is responsible
for daily management of repair work flow.
Management of this growing department requires the following;
Outstanding customer service skills
Optimized organizational skills
Precise attention to detail
Honed time management skills
Excellent keyboard skills
Respect for process, protocol and rules
The Repairs Manager is responsible for the following key
deliverables;
Communication with the public about the repair in question
Management of the customer relationship
Intake of the repair including thorough documentation and clear
communication
Management of the manufacturing teams handling of the repair
including final inspection
Seamless coordination with the business office as well as the
shipping department towards fulfillment of the work flow
The following will contribute to faster/further success but,
importantly, are not required;
Prior bicycle industry experience
Knowledge of bicycle frames and components
Spanish speaking
Graphic design and further creative skills
Owing to our remote location, we feel it is important that
applicants meet the following requirements;
Reside in Santa Cruz County
Have reliable transportation to/from work
